General moan...

I feel ill, ill, ill, ill and as a result fairly grouchy >.< (and I don't like feeling grouchy either)

My head feels like it's about to be split apart by lots of tiny weeny hammers ( and I send curses to those who cursed me to be ill)

The painkillers have ceased to have an effect T_T

My throat feels like a parched bitter desert (and :O I'm becoming poetic now?)

(and before you ask, I'm a very bad patient - which is why I guess it's lucky that I rarely get ill)

Actually, I'm beginning to like whining now...

I've also noted I'm a lot meanier and less helpful when I feel ill. Thus, my plan to learn how to be evil might actually work if I feel ill more often... then again, I hate being ill so maybe not...

RAWR RAWR RAWR

Someone should really invent more effective painkillers...

or maybe I should just try getting drunk... might make the head feel better?

(Yes, I know feeling ill isn't really that bad, but I like to moan okay?)

Bracken Fracken...

You know you have had a bad week when:

1. Your house gets broken into and your livelihood gets stolen.
2. Your only suspects are your so-called friends.
3. It takes you two days to remember your damn gmail password.
4. You get a parking ticket for parking in YOUR OWN DRIVEWAY.
5. You get a letter from the state saying that you sewage pipe is broken, it's basically their fault, and you have 30 days to fix it, out of your own pocket.

At least my stomach is fine... I need it to stomach my life at the moment. I already have a blog for my outside life. You can find it on my myspace. I will post here when I can, but if you want the real juice, it's on my other blog. You can find that, add me, whatevr at www.myspace.com/aj_french

That's about as long winded as I can be at the moment. I got to get back to my Sherlock Holmes-esque search for the bastard that just pretty much took away my life. When I find him, you'll read about it in the papers. Make sure to check the obituary section.

Well to be perfectly honest...

I accepted the invitation to join the blog as an author early early this morning - probably well before Suzuka ^_^
At the time, I simply had nothing interesting to say - as I had really just gotten up - and very soon after, I was called in early to work (in addition to my normal shift). I don't mind though, because I can't work tomorrow (which I look forward to every Sunday, as I get to work with my boss Mike who I <3) because I'm singing at a concert. This weekend has been crazy too, business wise. Friday was a normal busy Friday until everyone noticed the SUN OUTSIDE and then the phones rang off the hook, and two of our drivers didn't even show up for work!!! I delivered 25 pizzas Friday night and then 15 today. All in all, I made $300 these last two nights - well over $23/hour. I'm pretty pleased.
Thankfully, that sum means that I'll have more than enough spending money for my choir tour to New York in May and college tuition next week >.<

Yep, that's right, to be perfectly honest, I'm starting school back up this quarter and the quarter starts in 2 weeks. More than likely, it won't have any impact on my Quality Checking schedule, so don't freak out yet ~_^

Anyways, why am I making a blog on St. Patrick's Day at 10PM? Well, as the title says, to be perfectly honest: My friends suck.

Not only do half of them life more than 200 miles away, but the ones that live nearby were either already drunk by the time I called them or completely unavailable. So I guess I'm left on my lonesome tonight with a bottle of sake to share with no one.
I couldn't even convince my sister to go see a movie with me tonight - she said she had an upset stomach (but I know that means she just wants to finish her shameless romance smut novel tonight).

*sigh*

Sorry to be a bit of a downer in the end here. I hope I can find some cheer in anime - I downloaded 30 gigs the other day... so there should be something good in there somewhere. I've decided it's time I redouble my effort to catch up on "old school" anime. I've seen most of the big series already so I'm kind of picking through the 1985-2000 series again and seeing what I missed. Right now I've got Tokyo Underground, Slam Dunk, Earthian (*giggle*), Ocean Waves (a movie), Weiss Kreuz; and then in addition, I have some less-old-school-but-still-stuff-I-missed-anime, like Sunabouzu (was following Lunar's sub until it got licensed ;_;), .hack//Liminality (just never finished the .hack series), .hack//ROOT (got about halfway through and stopped - don't remember why), and then I have my current-anime: Chevalier, Death Note, Bartender (done? :O ), One Piece, Naruto and Bleach.

Oh yeah, and I'm also watching Studio 60, Numb3rs, 24, Heroes and The Unit (American TV drama).
Oh speaking of Numb3rs, I had a dream last night. I don't know how many of you know Numb3rs or even watch it (if any of you) - but I had this dream I was with Charlie and the cast of Numb3rs in Egypt digging up artifacts in an area full of angry muslims o_O

It was scary... not that they were muslim or anything, but they wanted to kill us.

This is what happens when American networks deprive me of my dramas for 4 weeks!!! No new episodes of those series for SOOO LONG ;_;

Okay, I'm going to go drink alone and watch some Slam Dunk or something.
Here's a cookie for reading the whole message, and don't tell the people that didn't that there was cookies at the end.

The old Animanda days

Hi all Animanda staff members! Yanagi and murders, you should check your e-mail to accept the invitation, have a google account ready, and start logging in to post. That's easy!

For starters, I'm the only translator that's being alive since the days where Animanda was struggling for releases[there are 2 more translators, but they're too busy with their own personal stuffs]. I remember when I first join Animanda, they were only doing a joint sub with Doremi[what title was that? I forgot...]. So ish asked me this question, "What will you like to sub?". I answered shyly, "Anything."

Ok, I kinda regretted saying that, and because of that, Suzumiya Haruhi project was initiated[Actually it was suggested by Alu]. The first episode was happy translated by Pape, and subsequent 2-4 episode were translated by me. I remembered the pain whereby the dialogue was so longgggg...and I took 2-3days just to finish one episode. The ironic thing is, a.f.k. managed to release the episode 2 days after the Japanese air date, was kinda hit me hard.

Himawari Season 1 was also started about the same time. However, our translator pape was kinda bogged down with his personal life, thus the project was stalled until today. We apologise for that.

While I'm struggling to translate, out comes my angel, PG. Although she only agree to be a translation checker at first, ish brainwashed her and now she's become the official translator for Animanda and doing one of the super ultra popular anime[can't say the title]. I guess the QCers at that time heaved a really big sigh of relief as with the help of the TLC, the script accuracy has risen a lot. I thank PG for that.

In October 2006, we started out a new project, Zero no Tsukaima, which was initiated by me. It was going along fine, until trouble comes when ish has to leave for a week for holidays. Guess what? Work was stalled that entire week, no one was contributing to anything. At that time, I kinda hated the group for the lack of effort. Unfortunately, the two projects were still stalled even now, but at least it's still on track. [Negima Haru OVA wasn't spared either. Thus, I've decided to not translate anymore for Animanda till the group is ready.]

Why is Animanda struggling with the releases? Simple. Lack of staff.

Well, that's the old days of Animanda.

I guess I need not say anything more for the new Animanda. More new friendly staff, constant releases, maintaining our goal from the start, which is producing high quality subs and video to all fans. Thanks to all fans and staffs who were with Animanda for the past one year.

Next month is Animanda first anniversary. Care to leave your well-wishes for us? We've announced 2 new projects for April 2007 in the forums, so go check it out.

A use for the blog again!

Okay, there's finally a use for the blog again :D

It's going to be random staff gossip and nonsense, including funny IRC logs I guess :P (which can be revealed to the public)

As Suzuka suggested we should have a blog to tell people all about our non fansubbing activities and such (I think that was the general idea, no?), especially since due to timezones and such we do miss each other every so often ^_^.

Anyway, let the blogging begin (wonder if you ppl. will remember to blog?)

I'll start by wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick's day!!!

Go, go, go, the ultimate aim of this day for those who celebrate it, is to go out and drink as much Guiness as possible...
